Our parishioner Rose (Gibba) Klemans, 100, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026.
Born in Passaic, she was a lifelong resident of the Athenia Section of Clifton. After attending School 13 and graduating Clifton High School Class of 1943, she went on to graduate St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Rose was a Registered Nurse at Passaic Beth Israel Hospital, where she retired as Nurse Manager at the age of 79. As a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, Chapter 1, Rose was an elected Board member and served on multiple committees. Rose was an active delegate with the American Operating Room Nurses and traveled to conventions all over the United States.
A parishioner of Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral, Clifton, Rose held several elected positions on their Board, including Treasurer and Recording Secretary.
Beloved wife of the late Clifford Klemans who passed away in 1976. Devoted mother of Candice Balascio and Cathleen Klemans.
Visiting Wednesday, February 4, 2026, 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, Panakhyda 7 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Thursday, February 5, 2026, 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral, 635 Broad St., Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
