Due to the introduction of the quarantine and restrictions for public meetings, our church is taking measures to protect  our parishioners’ health.  In order for parishioners to be able to pray and, according to the tradition, to consecrate the willow branches, celebrating the Feast of LORD’S TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM, the Holy Ascension Parish will hold the worshipping services in the following way:

On Sunday, April 12

 10:00 – the Liturgy will be served and it will be broadcasted OnLine. During the worshipping there will be a limited number of people present (as of today – it’s up to 10 people) – only the priest, the sexton and the incomplete choir cast;

12:00  – willow branches will be consecrated outside the Cathedral, in front of the lower entrance  (according to the official message from the Passaic Valley Water Commission, Coronavirus  IS NOT SPREAD through water – https://www.pvwc.com)

Everyone can attend the prayer and consecration of the willow branches while staying inside their cars, thus following all the established personal safety restrictions (masks, gloves, social distancing).

After the consecration, the willow branches will be handed out by the sexton, who will be following all the hygiene rules as far as present quarantine outside restrictions are concerned.

For everybody who will not be present at the consecration, it will be possible to pick up a willow branch during the whole day in front of the lower entrance of the Cathedral.

 It is our big request to all parishioners to follow the recommendations given earlier.

All measures ARE AGREED WITH THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT

In today’s circumstances, the situation may change any time. Please follow our messages.
