Our parish has a very nice family tradition – congratulating each other on birthdays or other important events in a person’s life.
This Sunday, November 28th, we congratulated an important person of our parish – the regent of the church choir Mr. Myron Hrytsyk with his birthday. He has been serving as a regent for three years in a row now and during all this time he has been known as a very kind, well-adjusted, modest, patient and most importantly – as a talented person. We really appreciate his work, as he has been through a difficult task – to unite us and to teach new members of our choir. This is what we highly honor our regent for and the whole community sends our sincere congratulations to him on his birthday! We wish long, nice and healthy life to Mr. Myron and his family.
In October, we also congratulated the main hostess of our parish – Iryna Sukha with her birthday. We wished long life and good health to her and the whole family. She is loved very much and respected by everybody in our community, because Mrs. Iryna is the kind-hearted person who unites us into one big family and takes into her women’s hands one of the most difficult responsibilities in our church – managing the church’s kitchen household.
September was not an exception without special events either. The head of our community, William Kraus and his wife, Dorothy Kraus, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They got their wedding back at the time when our parish had our church on Hope Avenue. A lot of relics have been preserved since that time and then carried to our current church building: the iconostasis, the chandelier (panikadylo), some stained-glass windows and many other things that can be noticed from their wedding photos. This couple is an example for modern generations to follow. Their caring attitude, respect and love they still look at each other with is the greatest treasure which they’ve managed to carry through so many years of living together.
In August, our large family-like community congratulated our parish’s most hard-working, tireless household manager Mr. Ivan Zastavny, with an important event – obtaining the US citizenship. We wish for this country to become and to continue to be a real home for Mr. Ivan, where he will have a lot of close and good friends, will feel safe and confident in the future.
